Applications Sought for State Implementation Grants
The Maternal and Child Health Bureau is seeking applications for “The President’s New Freedom Initiative: State Implementation Grants for Systems of Services for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs”. The initiative will support up to six grants to assist State Title V Children with Special Health Care Needs programs, family organizations, providers, and other partners to implement the six core outcomes of a system of services for children and youth with special health care needs.
The guidance is available at www.grants.gov or www.hrsa.gov/grants under HRSA-09-159. The due date for all applications is March 6. There was a technical assistance call on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. ET.
States/territories that were awarded a statewide implementation grant under announcement numbers HRSA-05-014, HRSA-06-099 and HRSA-08-034 are not eligible to apply: This includes the following states/territories: AZ, CA, CT, CO, DC, FL, HI, IO, MA, MD, MI, ME, MN, MO, NE, NC, ND, NH, NN(Navajo Nation), NV, NY, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, UT, VT, WVA and WI.
